The farm that inspired Greens Restaurant in San Francisco. Before farm-to-table was a trend, San Francisco Zen Center’s Greens Restaurant made locally sourced vegetables from Green Gulch Farm a critically acclaimed dining experience.

Green Gulch Farm Zen Center is located in Muir Beach and offers Zen meditation study and practice, a traditional Japanese guest house and tea house, and a thriving 10 acre organic vegetable and fruit farm.

Green Gulch has become recognized for its organic farming practices and where organic farmers often come to learn the tools of the trade. One of the original architects of the gardens at Green Gulch was the renowned late horticulturist Alan Chadwick, who introduced the biodynamic farming techniques.

Partnering with the National Park Service, residents and staff at Green Gulch work to restore Muir Beach and the surrounding wetlands to their original habitat.
